Baked Anelletti alla Palermitana – Step-by-Step with Photos

A festive Palermo favorite, baked anelletti is perfect for Sunday family gatherings.

Ingredients:
  • 500g Pastificio Lenato Anelletti
  • 250g ground beef or pork
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 2 cups tomato passata
  • 1/2 cup grated pecorino
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • Olive oil, salt, pepper
Steps:
  1. Make the Meat Sauce
    Sauté onion, add meat, brown, then peas and tomato passata. Simmer 20 min.
  2. Cook Anelletti Pasta
    Boil anelletti until very al dente.
  3. Mix Pasta, Sauce, Cheese & Eggs
    Combine pasta, sauce, cheese, and eggs in a large bowl.
  4. Prepare Baking Dish
    Grease dish and coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Assemble & Top
    Add pasta mix, top with breadcrumbs and cheese.
  6. Bake
    Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–40 min until golden.
  7. Slice & Serve
    Let cool slightly, slice, and serve.
